Me & Diving As my website indicates, I'm more or less obsessed with diving and under water photography. I've only been doing it since '99 but I've been lucky enough to dive in more places in a few years than many do in ten years. For this I am greatful. My diving thus far has been in Jamaica, Key Largo, Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, Flower Gardens National Marine Sanctuary (Gulf of Mexico), Grand Cayman, Destin/FWB, The Colorado River, Cozumel, Thailand, Burma, Maldives, North Carolina and Truk Lagoon. Add this to the diving I've done in the local lakes and it pretty much spells obsession.
This is my very limited page about diving. There are thousands of sites out there on the subject and I don’t have a lot to add except what’s contained in my ‘trip reports’ above. It also has a small group of links that I've found helpful or interesting. I hope this helps someone interested in diving, planning dive related travel, or just otherwise curious about it.
As for underwater photography, I started out as many do with a point-and-shoot underwater camera, specifically the Ikelite Auto35. I later added an external strobe and macro kit. Many of the photos on this site were taken with this system. I like to think that I took this camera right to its limits before I upgraded. There is no doubt that it can take good photos with a little practice and by following few basic rules.
My underwater camera system is based around a Canon Rebel/300D digital SLR camera. You can go to my underwater photography page to read more about it and see some photos.
